The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors, hereby recognize, commend and thank the volunteer partners of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter for their ceaseless energy and effort towards saving and caring for the most vulnerable animals in our community and maintaining the invaluable human-animal bond.
CZU Fire: Special Volunteer Helpers Honored
It really did take a village! We are so grateful to the many organizations and individuals who helped in so many different ways with the support of animals in need during and after the CZU fire. SCCAS wants to thank all volunteers who helped during this time. If you spent time out at the SC County Fairgrounds, or helped out in some other way, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. The names below were compiled by the volunteer leads who were at the fairgrounds every day during this disaster. We apologize if anyone was inadvertently left out.
Equine Evacuation of Santa Cruz County
Members braved the fire zones to rescue animals and returned multiple times to care for animals in place that were left behind!
