Do you need to replace your dog’s license because it was damaged or lost?
Please come to the Shelter to get a replacement tag for $5 or call 831.454.7261.
Updating Your Dog’s Old-Style Tag
We’re excited about the launch of our new digital tag program in 2018 and want to encourage folks who have the old-style Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter tag to take advantage of this change! The tag issued at your initial licensing will remain your dog’s permanent license tag, and you will not automatically receive one of the new digital tags upon renewal. We strongly recommend that you pay a $5 replacement fee to take advantage of the new digital tags.
Either visit one of the two Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter locations or mail a check for the $5 fee to:

Your pet’s replacement tag will be sent in the mail within two weeks.
